Beauty Trend 2016? Conceal and Color Correct!

Hello Lovelies!

I am a makeup enthusiast and I love to keep up with the latest trends in the beauty industry. I always keep a close eye on Sephora’s just arrived section and check their newsletters religiously! If you are anything like me or even a little bit into makeup trends you might be aware that Highlighting and Strobbing was all the rage in 2015 and so contouring is still trending since 2014. In 2015 almost every makeup brand came with a new highlighting product. Here are some of my favorites:

As a Sephora VIB Rouge Member I got an email of Early Access Preview to some of the new products at Sephora which was flooding with color correcting products from various brands! feel that 2016 is a gonna be a year of cancelers and colour correctors. I am extremely excited about this trend since I don’t have perfect skin and I have never explored colour correcting before. Here is what I would like to try from this new trend:

I have always been a huge fan of the Kate Spade design aesthetics. No one does accessories like Kate Spade so I couldn’t wait to see her Spring 2016 collection presented at the NYFW. Here are some of my favourites from the collection..

The Five Minute Journal: An interesting way to get into the habit of maintaining a journal

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing a really interesting way to maintain a journal. I live really close to Chapters/Indigo Bookstore and as a book lover I can’t resist to go to the bookstore every few days. On one of the recent trips I found an awesome way to maintain a journal. It’s called “The Five Minute Journal” by Alex Ikonn and UJ Ramdas. It’s a perfect journal for people who always wanted to write a journal but could’t keep up with it. It’s a journal for people who don’t write journals!

It asks you to commit to write continuously for at least 5 days as it has weekly changes. These weekly challenges are to encourge you to get out of your comfort zone and take actions. For example, “An old friend I’ve been meaning to re-connect with is ________ . Call this person today.”It also has various tips and tricks to commit to write frequently and that too for under five minutes a day! Each page is divided into two sections, one where you write before you begin your day, and the other right before you go to bed. The Morning section has 3 parts, 1st is where you have to write “3 things you are grateful for…”, “What would make today great?” and Daily affirmations. In the Night routine section there are two parts. First is “write 3 Amazing things that happened today…” and “How could I have made today better?”

I feel that this is a great way to induce positive thinking as you begin and end each day with positive thoughts and learn to appreciate your life by being grateful.

Montreal 2015

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing the pictures from my trip to Montreal. I started this new year 2015 with an impromptu trip to Montreal with a few friends. We decided to go there sometime after midnight, and left for Montreal at about 6 in the Morning. I loved the whole experience. I am sure a lot of us had “Travel more this year” as a new year resolution so this trip made me happy for one more reason. Montreal winter was worse than Toronto but despite that I fell in love with city and it’s European vibe.

Basilique Notre-Dame is definitely my favourite place out of all the places I saw.

Ipsy Glam Bag March 2015

Hi everyone!

Many of you must have watched Michelle Phan, the American Beauty Guru on YouTube. She is one of the pioneers in the YouTube beauty world, with more than 7.5 Million subscribers, the 27 year old Beauty Guru and entrepreneur was also featured in Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2015! YouTube has brought the beauty industry to a whole new level. There are so many successful YouTube beauty Gurus who teach their viewers and subscribers about Makeup techniques, skincare and various products available in the market.

After a very successful collaboration with Lancôme in the year 2010, Michelle co-founded ‘MyGlam’ in the year 2011, which was later renamed Ipsy, which is a monthly beauty product subscription service. Michelle created Ipsy for people who wants to try out different beauty and skin care products to find the right one for their needs. The Ipsy site has a beauty quiz section in which the members fill out information about their skin tone and product preferences. A team of experts choose 5 product which includes deluxe samples and full sized products which are new in the market and the members get to try those for for just $10* a month.

I received my first Ipsy glam bag this month and I decided to review it on the blog as I only got to know about it a few months ago and I am sure there are a lot of people who do not know about it. There a lot of similar services like Glossybox, BoxyCharm and Birchbox

Ipsy always comes with a small makeup bag. This month’s theme is floral fantasy as we are all gearing up for Spring. In my Ipsy I received Coolway Glow Oil Treatment, Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter, LANEIGE BB Cushion,NYX Cosmetics
Glam Shadow, and Crown Oval Concealer Brush (C224). Out of all the products I am most excited about the BB Cushion and the concealer brush.

I previously have tried GlossyBox and I love the packaging of it as its like opening a gift which it always a pleasant experience and you can use the pretty box as a keepsake but it it $21 a month. I like Ipsy as its cheaper and I get to try new products every month which is always a treat. Although Ipsy comes with a list of products with detailed product description, how to use it and the price which wasn’t available with Ipsy which is a little annoying, I wish thy start doing it too.

If you are considering trying one of the beauty subscription I recommend watching various reviews and unboxing on YouTube which would definitely help you get a feel of what to expect.

Favorites from H&M Studio S/S 2015

Hi Everyone! As you might know H&M launches a special spring/summer collection called H&M Studio, every year. This year the collection was released on March 12th worldwide.

As per H&M website “H&M Studio S/S 2015 gives a feeling of lazy days and long nights in Miami Palm Springs. A sun-kissed collection with laid back yet luxe silhouette and fresh sportswear influences.”

Today I am sharing my favorites from the H&M Studio Spring/Summer 2015. I love the fabric and print of the short-sleeved kaftan in airy patterned silk containing metallic threads and the matching bottoms. Pair it with the navy blue silk robe and you will look exquisite. I also quite like the Canvas weekend bag with leather details.

I also absolutely love all the Burgundy Suede accessories from the collection.
